Root & Vine. Opposites Intertwined. Dichotomy.
VINO
On the palate, Dichotomy strikes with demonstrative, dark-berried notes with vibrant acidity and well-structured tannins. As this Old Vine Zinfandel breathes, undertones of cocoa powder and cinnamon come out to play. Fruit forward out of the gate, this Zin follows through on its bold promise and delivers with a nice rounded finish. Whole cluster fermented. Aged for 22 months, split between New French and New American Oak.
APPELLATION
The source vineyard sits on a 10 acre, dry-farmed vineyard in Lodi's Mokelumne River AVA. Mokelumne River AVA winegrapes, particularly Zinfandel, are internationally recognized for both their approachable, fruit-forward nature and soft palate landing. The Mokelumne River AVA has a Mediterranean style climate, characterized by mild to hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. In the evenings, westerly breezes funnel their way from the delta, tempering the winegrape's volatility. With sustainable winegrowing practices, the source vineyard hand prunes and head-trains the vines with a focus on producing high-quality, premium Zinfandel.
